Dr. Electric is an electrical repair company founded on the desire to give the customer in need of electrical repair a sense of comfort and ease with the phone call and the repair. I am Joe Macri, owner and founder of Dr. Electric. I have been in business as an independent electrical contractor in middle TN owning and operating J M Electric, LLC since 1998. Two years ago, my wife and I were talking about how to make a customer more comfortable with having to call a repair man. I know how difficult it is to trust that the company you have decided on to do the repair will do it right, or even show up. Trying to find someone who can answer some basic questions when you call, or even sounds intelligent on the phone can be a challenge.
So two years ago I opened Dr. Electric, hoping that the name of "Dr. Electric" will convey my message of"You can trust that I will do the job right, not overcharge you, and be there when you need me." You may have heard my radio ads or seen my TV commercials. I operate with the TRUE belief that "Your Emergency is My Priority."
I am the guy who does give 24-hour emergency service and has a "Wallet Friendly" price. I have been able to stay in business for over 10 years because of my adherence to these basic principles. When you call, I answer the phone; so, you are going to talk to someone who has been in the electrical field for 27 years, 15 of those years as an electrical contractor in middle TN.
I will give you free phone help and advice to help you possibly fix the problem yourself. So many times people will call me with plugs not working, and when they describe it to me, I know that it is probably a tripped GFCI plug somewhere in their house. So I talk them through where to find it, and then they don't need me to come out. There are a lot of repair companies that would love to get those calls. They also know what the problem is, but it's an easy buck for them, so they won't try to talk you though fixing it yourself. I will, because I would want someone to do the same for me, or my wife, or my mom.
At Dr. Electric, the rates are very reasonable. I have been advertising as "Wallet Friendly" for over 10 years and constantly check my competitors to make sure I am the "Wallet Friendly" company. I always suggest checking others rates. Make sure you ask some basic questions, like is it a one-man crew or a two-man crew. I have two-man crews on M-F. I have a one-man crew on Saturdays and Sundays for the same rate as weekdays.
At Dr. Electric, I don't need to open a book that was created by some franchise developer to tell you how much to fix something. I can tell you my hourly rate up front and tell you how long a standard job will take. Most calls can be accomplished in one hour. Franchised electrical repair companies have to charge more in order to pay the franchise fees, and they go by a book of listed prices to ensure their profits.
